Nassu: A high performance LES solver for computational wind engineering

Oliveira Jr., W., et al.

Our peer-reviewed solver paper. Introduces Nassu - the GPU-accelerated LES/LBM engine behind AeroSim - and its validation for computational wind engineering. The lead reference for how and why our results can be trusted.

Experimental and numerical investigation of upstream terrain roughness effects on atmospheric boundary layer flow around a cubical building

Instantaneous velocity and streamlines for the PIV-validated case (k/h = 0.045). Detail of Fig. 7 from Almeida et al., JWEIA 278 (2026) 106596, CC BY 4.0.

Experimental and numerical investigation of upstream terrain roughness effects on atmospheric boundary layer flow around a cubical building

Almeida, M., Taouil, N., Bakar, N., Jadidi, M., Azarpeyvand, M.

Independent, peer-reviewed validation by a University of Bristol group, which credits AeroSim for software access. LES via the lattice Boltzmann method, with immersed-boundary roughness elements and a synthetic-eddy inlet, is measured against PIV data from Bristol's boundary layer wind tunnel: mean streamwise velocity reaches FAC2 and LCC above 0.90, and turbulence intensity reaches FAC2 = 0.85, LCC = 0.91 and NMSE = 0.32. Each 98.7-million-cell case ran in roughly 8 hours on a single NVIDIA RTX A5500.

A viable framework for wind load assessments with Large Eddy Simulations

Oliveira Jr., W., et al.

Presented at the field's flagship conference (ICWE). Lays out a practical LES-based framework for wind load assessment - the foundation our consulting methodology is built on.
